How Much Should I Pay for a Celebrant?

The role of a Celebrant involves a significant legal responsibility and as appointees of the Attorney General’s office we are tasked to undertake quite serious due diligence checks and rigour on the applications submitted by our couples for which we are specially trained and registered, and for which we must comply to ongoing registration and professional education and renewal.

Putting this in to perspective, some people choose to budget upwards of a few thousand dollars for their outfits, yet only expect to pay a few hundred dollars for a Celebrant.... and wait until close to the date to book someone to provide the most crucial component of their day.

You should therefore expect to pay close to $1000 for a good Celebrant. The current average in NSW according to the National Annual Wedding Industry Report for 2019 is $774.

My advice is to shop around. Yet shop around to find the right type of person with whom you feel you have an affinity with and who can deliver the type of ceremony you are after - warm, engaging, personable, funny, supportive, professional.

Contact Nicque at Rites and Rituals Celebrant: hello@ritesandritualscelebrant.com.au or on 0435 432 347 to discuss your plans and for an obligation free meeting to see if she is the right Celebrant for your special occasion.
